AhlulBayt News Agency: The Leader of the Islamic Movement in Nigeria, Sheikh Ibraheem Zakzaky, met with families of the 2025 Quds Day martyrs in his residence in Abuja. The meeting took place after the fortieth day of special prayers held in Abuja on Wednesday, the 7th of April 2025.
He also addressed the visiting families regarding the plots against the movement by the Government in the form of provoking. He said, “They will do all they can to provoke brothers, then they will have an opportunity to attack the residence of Sheikh Zakzaky.”
He said they did such things in Karmajiji and Suleja, where they attacked houses and arrested some brothers and sisters, took them to their Headquarters, and there they removed the hijab of sisters; they even showed the pictures of the sisters without hijab on the internet. The enemies know that desecrating women’s hijab is one of the major acts that provoke Muslims.”
The Leader further said, “As normal brothers and sisters displayed a high level of caution and sense in dealing with such provocations by staging protests against the desecrating of the hijab nationwide.”
The provoking plan earlier to attack Sheikh Zakzaky’s residence failed as the Leader was then on a visit to Karbala, Iraq. However, the arrested 33 brothers then who are now in Keffi prison, whom they falsely accused of murdering a police”.
“The attack on the Quds day procession this year was a new plan by the Government to achieve its aim on the Islamic Movement. Since the beginning, they planned and even announced that Quds day will be held globally, and in Nigeria, the procession will be held in so and so cities, however, the Islamic Movement will not be trusted, for they are known to cause unrest.”
In response, the Sheikh says,” I know that the person who wrote his announcement is very sure he is lying. Because all those in security uniform now, from the Chief of Defence to the last recruit, and for I. G. of Police to the last recruit, all of them, the Movement was existing before they joined the force, the highest number of service year for them is 35 while for 48 years we have been doing our programmes”
On the issue of shooting innocent civilians, the Leader says, ‘Why the shooting!!? If one does not like the Quds procession, and we know they do not like it, that does not warrant killing those who carried out the procession. No law permits the killing of someone you do not like, whether you are a Governor or president.”
He expressed condolences to those who lost family members while calling on them to be patient. He prayed for the souls of those unjustly killed.
